What I imagine to have happened if Sirius had actually had a trial and was able to go free. Takes place from November 1981 to April 1982. There are also sequels.
The day they had began their wedding planning was truly a depressing day. Remus carried Sirius up bed with Harry following them up the stairs.
They spent the entire day in bed, looking through photo albums and telling Harry stories about his parents.
The next day though, they got serious about the planning. They decided Dora would be the flower girl, throwing rose petals. Then Andromeda would help Harry walk down the aisle with the rings.
They wanted the theme to be red. And they decided to go with dress robes. At the end of the week they had the dress robes tailored and their wedding bands picked out.

Because of the theme Andromeda, Dora and Harry all had red outfits.

By the end of the month they'd almost completely finished planning. They were gonna have the wedding and reception at the Weasleys and they were paying Mrs. Weasley to cater the event.
Sirius also finished the renovations to the cottage in January. Having the renovations done meant two things, they could file for an adoption and Sirius would be able to go back to the auor academy.

They sent out their invitations in February, the wedding set for the 21st of March, 1982.
They also finally decide to get vehicles.

It was now the 1st of March. It was around noon and the Sirius and Remus were packing bags for a picnic at the Weasleys. It was Ron's birthday and they ended up getting him a little broom and wand like Harry's. There was also a few story books thrown in there, Remus insisted.
They were just about ready to leave when there was a tap at the window. Neither of the recognized the owl but it had two different letters.
Remus sits Harry down in the living room with his toys then comes to see about the letters.
"This one's addressed to both of us," Sirius comments opening the letter so they can both read it.
Dear Messers Black and Lupin,
I am pleased to inform you that your adoption application has been processed. We have a couple potential placements for you guys and a ministry official will be by tomorrow to do an assessment.

"Oh my God," Sirius shouts in excitement. "Remus it's happening!!" He squeals.
Remus reads through the letter again and the biggest smile breaks out on his face. He throws his arms around Sirius and whispers, "it's really happening."
