Salim's POV

I ran following that girl. My Haraam Police were also following me. Did Kayal faint? Is she not feeling well? So many thoughts crossed my mind in those few seconds. Only when I came near a small crowd in the other room I saw Kayal pressing the chest of a villager who was lying down in the floor. She was giving him CPR. She looked towards me, "Salim, can you please give him rescue breaths? I am unable to give him, I feel nauseating."

I nodded my head and went near that villager. She then told me, "He is drunk."

My eyes might have popped out for a second, but I can't help it. I nodded again and gave rescue breaths to that man. In between Anbu was shouting, "Why are you trying to save this drunkard? Let him die."

Kayal yelled at him, "Anbu, he might be a drunkard. But, he is also somebody's Son, Father and a Husband. Don't judge."

Anbu was still yelling something more, when Bharathi was trying to calm him.

After struggling for few more minutes, we saved that villager. As soon as he came to his senses, I went outside and puked. It was that bad for me. Both Umar and Mustafa were trying to hold my head. Within few minutes Kayal came near us. She first gave me a Mouthwash. When I washed my mouth she gave me a bottle of ORS(Oral Rehydrated Solution). She then said, "Sorry for putting you through this and Thank you for saving a life."

"Kayal, no need of sorry. I am happy that I could save somebody's life." In a way I was also pleased to know that we worked as a team again.

That is when we heard Anbu yelling at that villager with his colorful tongue. She then said, "Please don't mind that. Anbu's Father was a drunkard and he had a very rough childhood because of his Father. That is why he was against saving that person's life."

I simply nodded my head. All of us come from privileged families, but when I see somebody who isn't as blessed as us, it aches. Now that he is a grown man, nothing can be done to correct his childhood, but I know it will keep on haunting his future.

In the night after our prayers Rafi and Abdullah went to sleep. All the women also went to sleep. I couldn't sleep. So along with Mustafa and Umar I came outside. Rain has temporarily stopped. But, the winds were blowing heavily. This sort of wind will damage the crops. How much ever compensation a farmer may get, it would never be enough. After some time, Anbu also joined us after completing some work.

He asked us, "Are you not feeling sleepy?"

"Not yet Anbu. The climate is very bad. Ramanan Sir said, it may rain heavily tomorrow as well."

"This is the life of people over here. They are used to it. They are also brave. We can manage. Don't worry."

"Okay."

Mustafa asked him, "Kayal Sister told us that your lover is now working in another village. Are you not worried about her?"

He gave a small laugh and said, "I know what you are trying to ask. My Ila is like fire. Nobody can go near her with wrong intentions. If you also want to know whether I am worried about losing my love to some other man, my answer is still no. I trust her. If a woman wants to betray you there are thousand ways to do it, even if you put her in a cage. The only way you can be sure that she doesn't choose anybody over you, is by giving your maximum love to your woman. I hold her above everybody else in this earth. She also knows that nobody can love her like I do. We have been through a lot of tough times together. She has been my pillar of support and I have also supported her during hardship. We know that come what may, we have each other. When you have that sort of bonding with your woman you will never doubt her love, neither will she doubt yours."
