Chapter 17

Ruqayyah's POV

"Wait, isn't that...?" I start but stop when I notice the state of the person. I was still on my way to Mazzini with Alex when I saw Bianca, or at least it looks like her, but she's acting strange.

Wait, are those the side effects Youssef was talking about?

"Oh, no," Alex states and I could see worry in his expression.

"What's up with her?" I ask as Youssef tries to stop Bianca from hugging him and having her hands all over him. She was behaving somewhat clingy and childish at the same time. I can not explain it. All I know is that Youssef seems to not be able to handle her any longer, but she seemed happy, she was smiling, in fact, she was super smiley.

"Those are the side effects of the drug. It makes you, let's say, express your feelings in a very exaggerated manner and it also makes you a really honest person, above average. So, if you're trying to test Bianca's friendship, today is the day." Alex tries to explain and throws in a little humour.

"You mean, she will be honest about everything we ask her?" I ask and Alex nods.

"Um... Wow!" I walk my way to Bianca and she pulls me for a hug straight away. Yep, she was super clingy today.

"Ruqayyah! I missed you so much!" She literally screams in my ears and my eyes meet Alex's.

"And she also loses part of her memory." He adds and I gasp as I part from her, "Not permanently, don't worry. As soon as the side effects are over, she will be back to normal." He remarks before I could ask.

"This is terrible. We need to do something about it. Youssef, what about the medicine?" I ask him.

"She won't take it. I even got the one that could reduce the hours of the side effects but she is not taking it." Youssef explains sounding frustrated.

"Bianca, you need to take the medicine to feel better." I try to explain it to her.

"I already feel good, in fact, I feel really good." She giggles and then looks at Youssef, "And besides, I have told Youssef what he has to do for me to take whatever it is he wants me to take." She smirks and Youssef sighs.

"What does she want?" Alex asks Youssef.

"It's nothing, just let it go_" Youssef replies, but Bianca interrupts.

"It's a simple question that requires one of the two answers, yes or no." Bianca states and both I and Alex look at Youssef.

"What has she asked you?" Alex asks Youssef.

"Who cares? Just answer to the question so she can take the medicine." I interfere as I interlock my arm with Bianca's because she was definitely not stable right now.

"No. The answer is no. Are you taking the medicine now?" Youssef finally replies and we all look at Bianca in hope.

"You're lying, she told me that you did. In fact, she told me today that you wanted to see her." Bianca continues and now I am lowkey curious to what the question is.

"Well, then she's the one who lied. You know my religion doesn't allow..." Youssef starts but Bianca interrupts.

"Relationships before marriage, I know." She continues, "But she's my friend, she would not lie to me."

"Wait, what is going on...? Actually, let's get to Mazzini and get this drama over with." Alex steals the words from my mouth.

"No, I will explain to you what is going on. It happens that Mr Youssef here seduced my friend into doing the deed with him and then dumped her the next day after giving her hope of a future together." Bianca saysband Youssef rolls his eyes as Alex falls into laughter, but I soon glare at him and he lifts his hand up in surrender while trying to contain the laughter.
