~Little darling

Going up but we won't grow apart

Under the same sky

We got different ways of seeing the stars

Sometimes it's hard but keep your head up, your head up

Little one, you're stronger than you know, I know

I've been where you are

I've been the best of the mess ups

Let me take you down the easier road

You can follow my footsteps

But in your own tennis shoes

You can follow where I've been

When you're out looking for you~

(Lennon and Maisy Stella)

From the day he brings his new born girl home a father lives in fear someday she'll get hurt. That someday she'll hate him and worst of all that someday she'll grow up.

Elizabeth walked out into kitchen as the door slammed.

"Jenny off to school?" she asked pouring coffee.

"Yes" Rufus said "And she's mad at me"

"Well, you did ground her"

"Yes, but it was much needed" he replied.

"True"

"You were easy. You followed the rules."

"Yeah" she said drinking her coffee. "Let's call it that"

"Or you were just better then Jenny at sneaking out?" he asked.

"I'm the middle child, technically" she replied "I go unnoticed, most of the time. Between Dan being well Dan and J being the rebellious one I kinda just faded into the shadows. Plus I got straight A's and a very high score on my SATs at 14 so you and mom kinda just ignored anything else I did. It worked to my advantage"

"Elizabeth Odette"

"A middle name and a no rock star? I'm in trouble" she laughed and he shook her head at her. "Sorry"

"You're forgiven" he said "I'm just glad Jenny doesn't have a fire escape window"

"Yeah but Dan does and their rooms are connected" she replied. "I actually need to go. I have a coffee shop to run and an album to record. And this conversation is just digging me deeper and deeper into a hole"

"Have fun" he said and she left.

She got to her shop and spotted Drew behind the counter.

"Hey boss" he said.

"Hey" she said going behind the counter and putting her purse down.

"So have you met with the guy yet?"

"No he had to leave town for something and said he'd get back to me. I swear this is the other label all over again and I'm getting tired of being yanked around. Sometimes I feel like because I'm a female they can do this. I'm sure if you or any of the guys had a talk with him it would be different." She said and sat down then spotted a picture of the band on the desk. She swore it looked like an album cover. "That's it"
