Disclaimer: I own Elizabeth, all the rest of the characters unless otherwise noted do not belong to me.

~You've got a friend in me

You got troubles, I've got 'em too

There isn't anything I wouldn't do for you

We stick together and see it through

'Cause you've got a friend in me

You've got a friend in me

Some other folks might be

A little bit smarter than I am

Bigger and stronger too

Maybe

But none of them will ever love you

The way I do~

(Randy Newman)

It's said that we're all strapped to fortune's wheel. Nowhere is this truer than the ever changing landscape of love. As one couple enjoys an upswing another is plunged downwards. But top or bottom. Don't get too comfortable, because the one thing you can rely on is that the wheel will keep on turning.

Elizabeth arrived at the Empire to get Serena. She told her she would meet at the Empire to go to brunch. After finding out about Lily being sick she really wanted to be there for her stepsister so her figuring stuff out about what she wanted when it came to Nate was actually easy because of that. Not to mention she was having way too much fun to really focus on that.

"Hey" she said coming in to them kissing. "Wow PDA"

"Sorry" Serena said. "Does it make you feel...?"

"I'm good, you guys are okay. I was just not ready for the PDA. Um...Is Chuck here?" she asked.

"In his room" Nate said.

"Why you two are saying you're goodbyes I'm gonna go talk to him"

"Will you talk to him about mom" Serena said and she nodded.

She knocked on his door and he opened it.

"Hey" she said and he pulled her in. "I can't stay"

"I know" he replied then kissed her.

"Chuck" she said getting out of his embrace.

"I'm sorry" he replied.

"I know" she said. "Have you talk to Lily yet?"

"No" he said and laid on the bed. She went and sat on the edge.

"Chuck"

"Leave it alone Elizabeth" he replied then sat up and looked at her.

"Got it" she said and stood up. "I'll maybe come talk to you later"

She walked over to the door.

"Elizabeth" he said and she turned.

"Yeah" she said and he walked over to her.

"Sorry" he replied kissing her and she nodded. He kissed her forehead and she smiled.
