Several years later...

On the wasteland dimension of Varion, two Hekapoo clones stood guard in front of the true Hekapoo's forge. They watched as a DragonCycle and its master came flying towards them and readied their spears.

"Incoming!" - Hekapoo Clone

She shouted as the rider jumped off the DragonCycle and landed on the ground, unsheathing their sword and swinging it, sending a cloud of dust towards them.

One of the Hekapoo clones managed to jumo away but the other was immediately poofed as their flame got blown out. The remaining clone landed.

"Oh, dude, It's on!" - HC

She said as he flame ignited into flames. The mysterious man jumped right at her as she blasted flames at him, and in an instant, had vanished. She looked around before being grabbed from behind by the man.

"Oh, man!" - HC

She groaned as he blew out her flame, causing her to disappear. The man pulled out a notebook covered in cut marks from previous battles, and marked off the last two flames left in it. He entered the forge with a sense of peace in him, seeing the one true Hekapoo forging another pair of scissors.

"So it all comes down to this." - ???

He said in a deep, masculine voice. Hekapoo glanced back at him as he stepped closer.

"Sixteen long years. Hundreds of clones. All of it gone, like that." - ???

He snapped his fingers as he moved closer and sat on the couch behind her. He knew she couldn't escape now that he'd found her, so he relaxed.

"I've finally tracked you down, Hekapoo." - ???

He said as Hekapoo finished forging a pair of dimensional scissors with a more serious and darker theme. Hekapoo finally turned around.

"Yup. It's the real me. No more clones." - H

She said honestly as the man finally removed his hood, revealing himself as a thirty year old, battle hardened Marco.

"This is the part where you're supposed to blow out my flame." - H

She said while crossing her arms, to which he laughed.

"You barely escaped me on the exploding fields of Flendarz. And when I lost your trail in the mist of the NeverZone, I thought I'd never find you again. But after spending a few years with a group of monks, I acquired some ancient texts that lead me to dimensional scholars that taught me to translate their language. After that, it was a simple matter of surviving through the Toxic Forest and ending up right at your door." - M

He said as he stood up during his recap and stood in front of her. When they'd met, she'd been a few feet taller than him. Now, he was easily taller than her. He finally blew out her flame. She smiled.

"Not bad for a human. You've truly earned these." - H

She said as the newly forged scissors floated over to Marco's hands.

"I underestimated you." - H

She said as Marco smiled, his journey finally at an end. This moment was ruined when the doors got blasted open and Aster came in, his wand at the ready.

"What have you done with my best friend?!" - A

He shouted. Marco and Hekapoo looked at him and Marco's face looked confused before being filled with joy as he recognized him.

"Aster!" - M

He ran over and hugged him. Aster squirmed against Marco's bare pecs and pushed him off.

"Let me go, you—!...beautiful stranger...ahem, how do you know me? Where's Marco?" - A

He said warily while trying to keep his eyes on Marco's face.

"It's me! Marco!" - M

He said while pointing at the birthmark on his cheek. Aster knew that birthmark anywhere!

"...oh...wow...you look...great..." - A

He said while finding it harder to focus

"Man! We have so much to catch up on! I've learned how to sword fight! I fought an army of werewolves, rode in a hot air balloon, and jet skies off a waterfall! Isn't that cool?!" - M

"Yeah, yeah. Whatever. How did...all of this happen?" - A

He said while gesturing to Marco's muscle.

"Oh! Look! It took my sixteen years, but I finally earned these scissors." - M

He showed them to him. He looked impressed with the craftsmanship but then looked confused.

"Sixteen years? You've been gone for like, an hour." - A

"...an hour?!" - M

He said with rage as he looked at Hekapoo.

"Oh, forgot to mention. Time passes differently here." - H

She said while checking her nails.

"Look, it's okay! You haven't missed anything on Earth, and we can go home! You might need some time to readjust to Earth, but that's okay!" - A

He said to the angry Marco.

"...look, Aster. I'm not sure if Earth is even my home anymore. I really enjoy my new life here! I have everything I need. My sword, my fists, and my DragonCycle. I get to go on adventures just like you!" - M

"Yeah, I get it, but what about your parents? Or friends? They need you!...I need you." - A

He pleaded as Marco looked at his scissors. He could go literally anywhere he wanted...

He looked up at Hekapoo.

"Hey, don't look at me. Those are yours now. You can come back anytime you want to." - H

She said which seemed to ease Marco's worries.

"...okay, let's go home." - M

He smiled as Aster let out a sigh of relief. He left his pet DragonCycle, Nachos, with Hekapoo. He couldn't exactly bring her to Earth.

"Promise to take care of her?" - M

"She's in good hands, FleshWad." - H

She said as she smacked the back of his head, leaving another bald spot. He laughed a little, shrugging off the pain as he returned to Aster's side.

The two returned to Earth and, surprisingly, Marco's body changed too. It was like it had been sent back to before he ever went on the quest.

"No! My body! I spent years working on it!" - M

"Pfft, chill. I can restore it whenever you need it. I've been working on appearance modifying spells." - A

Marco felt relieved but still pretty sad that he'd have to work to gain it all back.

But hey, that's just part of the journey...
