A New Life - Part 2: Bye-Bye, Barkin

Gustavo had used his plane to help the trio of heroes, plus Rufus, land safely in the Amazon.

"Thank for the lift, Gustavo." - K

"After you saved my village from the flood? I only wish I could do more." - Gustavo

"It was no big." - K

"But those piranhas were." - C

He said as the trio unbuckled their seatbelts so they could get off. Wade called back.

"Okay, I have the security tape ready. This is the lab of Professor Acari." - W

He explained before showing them footage of a messy lab. A woman with black hair, strangely green skin, and a combat suit came into frame for a moment before noticing the camera and destroying it with a kick.

"Rewind and freeze." - K

Wade did just that, allowing them to get a clear shot of the woman.

"Anyone recognize her?" - K

"Yeah...I think she used to be on a superhero team..." - C

Aster had a bunch of files on various public superhero teams. Kim was just one of them. All of them were options for recruitment, though Aster wanted to build his own organization first before he began to unify the superheroes.

"Whoever she is, she's good." - K

"Try looking for anyone matching her description and get back to us, Wade." - C

"Got it." - W

Kim and Caster than heard the sound of loud slurping. They turned to see Ron drinking soda.

"Really? Right now?" - C

"Yeah, every drop counts when you're a thousand miles from a refill." - R

Caster rolled his eyes as the trio entered the jungle. Ron was panicking pretty much the whole time, thinking he heard or saw something. But eventually, they reached a treehouse.

"We're here." - K

She confirmed as she checked the location they were given by the Communicator. The trio climbed up the ladder and found a short old man waiting for them.

"Kim Possible! Thank goodness your here." - Acari

"Nice to meet you. I'm Caster and this is Ron, we're Kim's...sidekicks? Associates?" - C

He turned to Ron.

"I prefer team mate." - R

Caster nodded as the trio walked inside the lab. Immediately all threw were pretty grossed out as they found the entire lab covered in various exotic insects. Though Acari didn't seem to mind.

"So, what exactly did they steal?" - C

"I don't know! All my pets are here." - Acari

"Maybe they weren't after your...little friends." - C

He noticed a computer and went over to check it.

"Is there anything valuable on this?" - C

"Why, yes, an experimental cyber genetic tick! It's in the early stages but-oh no...you don't think...?" - Acari

"Looks like we figured out their target." - K

Caster nodded.

"But why were you even building it?" - K

"I have a lot of time on my hands." - Acari

He shrugged.

"Alright, but then how did they know about a project that hasn't even been finished yet?" - C

"And what would they use it for?" - K

"Ahhh!!!" - R

He began to scream when one of the bugs fell on his head. Ron had...trauma, from his time at a summer camp he went to when he was a kid.

Next day, at school...

Caster, Kim, and Ron were hanging out by Kim's locker. Kim was stressing out about detention, and what people would say when they found out.

"You fight international level criminals every week. You're worried about what Bonnie Rockwaller thinks of you?" - C

"She's the most popular girl in school. She could make my life miserable." - K

"Then we make sure she doesn't find out." - C

Caster didn't understand a lot of Kim's worries. But he still tried to. He knew her reputation here meant a lot to her, so he was willing to help protect it. Wade called before they could discuss it any further.

"Hey. I did what you suggested and I found a possible match. Her name is Shego. She's wanted in eleven countries. Former hero turned villain mercenary." - W

He showed them a picture of her mugshot.

"Make that twelve~" - R

He and Rufus purred.

"Ron, please. She's a villain. Try to keep it in your pants." - C

"Even better. I'll be the Romeo to her evil Juliet." - R

"She's not your type, Ron. And she's probably too old for you." - K

"You two are just haters." - R

He said while feeding Rufus part of his lunch. Barkin came over.

"Possible! Snap to! It's 1500 hours." - Barkin

"She has to do 1500 hours? Not cool! Make the time for the crime, Mr. B!" - R

"He's just saying that it's time for her detention." - C

Kim gulped a little, looking very nervous. She'd been a stereotypical good girl her whole life. She never got in trouble. That was Jim and Tim's job. And now, she felt like she was about to be thrown into the lion's den.

"Just keep to yourself and be nice if anyone talks to you!" - C

He shouted as Barkin took her away.

"It was nice knowing her..." - R

He sniffled as he and Caster walked to class.

"Haha, very funny." - C

"But seriously, think she's gonna be okay? What if they offer her..." - R

He looked around, as if worried someone was listening in.

"D-R-U-G-S?" - R

"...Ron, this is a high school. And I doubt anyone with half a brain cell is giving away drugs for free. And even if they are, Kim is too smart to take any." - C

"I know, I know, I'm just worried about her." - R

Caster sighed.

"Okay, if I help you break her out of detention, you have to do me a favor." - C

"...what's the favor?" - R

"You'll find out later." - C

Ron thought about it for a moment.

"...deal!" - R

Kim was sitting in detention until someone opened the door and tossed something inside. It started releasing blue smoke. (Smoke bomb, courtesy of Section Thirteen)

"Enemy attack! Evacuate the building! Go! Go! Go!" - Barkin

He shouted, his military instincts kicking in. While everyone was panicking and distracted, Rufus went in and got Kim's attention. He managed to help her realize this was all an elaborate scheme. She picked him up and snuck out of the room.

'Bye-bye, Barkin.' - K

She thought to herself as she saw him trying to squeeze out of the window right as she closed the door behind her.
