Aster was sneaking around Mewni Castle's kitchen, looking for a late night snack.

He hummed before suddenly losing consciousness.

When he regained consciousness, a majority of his body was stuck in a crystal and he was getting yelled at by Rhombulus.
"Why did you cause the fritz?!" - R
"...the fuck are you talking about? Wait, you're Rhombulus! You put people in time-out." - A
"W-what? No! Im the warden! Why would you call me that?" - R
"Glossaryck said it. And Omni, and my parents, Lekhmet, and Hekapoo." - A
"Whatever! Why are you causing the fritz?" - R
"...dude, you can't just shout that at me without explaining what it even is." - A
"The reason why nothing is working up here! Something's draining the magic from the universe, and those green holes keep appearing." - R
He pointed up at a large green vortex sucking in various crystals.
"Ohh, that's bad...but regardless, I didn't do it." - A
"Look, it's my job to imprison all sources of evil in my crystals forever! So you're gonna tell me what you know!" - R
He pointed his hand at Aster, which was just a snake's head trapped in crystal.
"Were your hands evil?" - A
"What? No! They're my hands!" - R
"Are you evil then?" - A
He looked confused. Aster looked around.
"Did you crystallize Lekhmet and Marco too? Were they evil?" - A
"No..." - R
"Then don't crystallize people all Willy-nilly. Think things through. Get your proof before you start crystallizing innocent people." - A
"Maybe you're right..." - R
He said as he began to mope around.
"I've been wrong about everything lately! The commission thinks I'm a joke! I thought if I could find the source of the fritz, my hands I could earn some respect!" - R
He said while sitting on a bench press he just had sitting around.
"Look, man, I'm sorry. It sounds like you've got some serious self esteem issues. And the only person who can fix that is you. You gotta learn to respect yourself." - A
"Really?..." - R
Rhombulus sniffled, somehow...
Aster nodded.
"That sounds great, but it won't matter since I'm gonna be imprisoned for the next ten thousand years for crystallizing Lekhmet! Glossaryck is gonna have a field day..." - R
"Oh, he's...busy. Don't worry about him." - A
He said with a bit of awkwardness.
"This is amazing! Well, it's actually really bad for the universe, but good for me!" - R
"Wait, slow down. Why is it bad?" - A
"Well, Glossaryck might be a jerk, but he's the most powerful, all knowing magic jerk in the universe." - R
"Oh...so the universe is just left defenseless?" - A
He shrugged.
"Wanna eat some old donuts?" - R
He offered to which Aster accepted. The two talked for a while about how he needed to work through his issues before coming to an agreement.
Aster wouldn't snitch on him to the Magic High Commission, and in exchange, Rhombulus would help Aster out if he ever needed it.
"What about Lekhmet? We can't just keep him like that." - A
"It's fine, im the only one who understands what he's saying anyway." - R
"Huh...alright. Mind sending me home?" - A
"Sure." - R
Rhombulus said as he opened up a portal for him with his own pair of dimensional scissors. Aster then had to drag crystallized Marco through it with Levitato and then had Rhombulus unfreeze Marco before leaving.
"Aster! I had this crazy dream! There was this big guy with a square head! And you were stuck in an ice cube!" - M
"Yeah, that's crazy." - A
He said as he opened the fridge and made them some cereal. It was what he originally wanted to eat before Rhombulus kidnapped him anyway.
