Aster, Jackie, and Jade were in Lo Pei's dojo, practicing their martial arts. They couldn't always rely on their powers, after all.
"You seem distracted, Jade. What's wrong?" - JC
"Ive been having this nightmare every night. I'm capture by ShadowKhan, and then I'm late to school, and I completely forgot to write my 'What I did over the summer' essay." - J
She explained.
"Then maybe you should write it. Summer break ends in a few days." - JC
"Yeah, and I think lying on your homework can be forgiven this one time." - A
He said, knowing that Jade couldn't exactly tell her class about Shendu and magic and aliens and whatnot.
"But I don't know what I'd even write about!" - J
"Write about working at the antique shop or something." - A
Aster and Jackie both got alerts that they were needed for a mission, so they left Jade to practice alone while they went to find Captain Black.
He briefed them on a series of thefts that only had one thing in common. Emperor jade statues.
"No suspects?" - A
"Just one. Our agents have been tracking the movements of Taiwanese billionaire, Bartholomew Chang." - Black
He explained as the screen showed them a photo of the wealthy man. He had a prosthetic hand made entirely out of jade.
"Our biggest obstacle is diplomacy. The Taiwanese government believes Chang to be their greatest philanthropist. We can't make a move on his island fortress without undeniable proof." - Black
'Island fortress?...i do need a base for my organization...' - A
"How are we getting in then?" - JC
"Chang is holding his annual martial arts competition for charity. However, we believe it's actually to get recruits for his private army. It also serves as a way to smuggle jade on and off the island. You two will enter as contestants." - Black
"Should we bring any back up?" - A
"The J-Team!" - J
She shouted as she revealed herself. She'd been hiding in a corner of the room.
"...how long have you been there?" - JC
"Long enough to hear everything. You should bring the J-Team! Tohru, Viper, and El Toro!" - J
"...What exactly is the J-Team?" - A
"It's the original group! If we get them all together on a mission, it'll be like old times." - J
"Yeah, but...we haven't talked to El Toro since the Chupacabra thing. And he doesn't have powers." - A
"Neither does Tag, Will, Kim, Ron, Tohru-" - J
"Tohru is learning Chi magic. But...point taken." - A
"I don't see why we shouldn't invite them to come along. The more allies, the better." - Black

They assembled the team and Toro was happy to see everyone again. Viper noticed that Jade seemed dejected she couldn't come along, so she cheered her up with the promise of going roller blading after the mission. The group were then taken to Chang's island, which really was a fortress. They were all given uniforms for the fights and brought to a courtyard. Jackie had briefly left to gather intel.
"You're a real master of disguise, huh?" - Viper
She commented, noticing that El Toro kept his mask on.
