Aster and Marco were hanging out and eating corn cobs on Mewni together while exploring a Mewman festival. Though Aster noticed that Marco had been strangely quiet the whole time.

"Everything okay, buddy?" - A

"Yeah, im fine. It's just...school's starting in a couple days, and I won't be able to visit Mewni as much anymore." - M

"Is that bad?" - A

Marco nodded.

"I really love it on Mewni. I mean, I love Earth, too. I love my parents, my friends, Jackie, but...I love Mewni too. But it's like I'm living two lives. One here, and one on Earth." - M

"I totally get it. I have like, three lives. One with you in Echo Creek, one with the Chans in San Fransokyo, and one here on Mewni." - A

"How do you balance it all?" - M

"Clones." - A

Marco's eyes widened and Aster burst out into laughter.

"Dude, I'm messing with you. I manage my time wisely, that's all. I'm not dating anyone and I don't have school, so I'm not tied down by responsibility like you are." - A

Marco got even more quiet and Aster looked at him, and began to realize what he was thinking.

"No, no, no. You aren't dropping out." - A

He said sternly.

"Come on! Mewni has an education system, right? I could be a transfer student!" - M

"You can't even read Mewman!" - A

"Then teach me!" - M

"Why are you so desperate to stay here?" - A

"Because I'm someone here! Aster, do you have any idea what it's like being your friend? You're special! You have magic, and you can fight, and you're royalty! You fight monsters and demons all the time! What about me? On Earth, I'm just another face in the crowd...atleast here, i matter." - M

He teared up a little.

"Marco...you are special. You have parents that love you to the moon and back, friends that you've known since childhood, and an amazing girlfriend. You can't just leave them behind." - A

Marco walked silently. He could see Aster's point. But...Mewni was like a fantasy. One that he craved. He hadn't been the same since he met Hekapoo. He'd spent years living a life of adventure. And while a peaceful life on Earth was great, it just...wasn't enough for him anymore.

As for Aster, he did feel guilty. He never realized that Marco felt like he was living in Aster's shadow. But when comparing their achievements, Aster did have a habit of outshining...well, everyone...

"...okay." - A

"Okay?" - M

He asked in confusion.

"Okay, you can stay on Mewni." - A

"Really?!" - M

He said with a smile.

"Yeah. But only if you get your parents to agree to it. You and Jackie can try doing long distance." - A

"I can do all of that!" - M

"I sure hope so..." - A

He said as Marco looked thrilled, but Aster wasn't sure how to feel about it. Was it really okay to let his friend live almost full time in another world?...

Aster and Marco were outside Echo Creek high for a little goodbye party. Marco's parents, Alfonso, Sensei Brantley, Ferguson, Janna, and Jackie Lynn were all in attendance.

Sensei was trying to hold in tears the entire time, and Marco gave him a belt that he designed for him. The teacher belt, for the best teacher Marco ever had.

Alfonso and Ferguson gave Marco their lucky dice from their DnD games, hoping it would bring him fortune in the midst of bloody battles.

Janna gave him...his own special security number...

Anyways...

Jackie Lynn gave Marco a few kisses and her seashell necklace. And finally, Marco's parents sent him off with a packed lunch and a framed photo of all three of them.

With that, Aster and Marco walked through the portal with Marco's luggage.

And so began Marco's life on Mewni.
