*Dj's P.O.V*

My mom and brother had been gone for hours. I was starting to get worried with their absence considering the fact that I had just been with them earlier. I guess after she dropped me and Amber off to our house she had more runs to make.

The recent conversation I had had with Amber comes to mind. The way she stormed off still confused me. It was like she took all of her anger out on me, when I'm the one who had been trying to be there for her. It was crazy. It wasn't fair either, but then again our friendship wasn't always fair.

I lay back against the couch in silence, getting ready to close my eyes, but then I hear a knock at my door and at first I think it's my mother and brother but when I hear the voice that calls my name behind it my stomach sinks.

"Jayon?" My voice is dry, the way I call out to him is low, with an anxious tone.

"Open the door," I hear him say.

I rush off the couch into the direction of my door, standing on my tip-toes to look out the peep hole.

I see him standing there, his head down. A serious look definitely had to be plastered on his face.

"Please," I hear him beg.

He looks directly into the peep hole, and for a minute I almost think he can see me staring at him. He looked emotionless, like everything had been drained out of him.

I unlock the door slowly, pulling it wide open. We face each other with silence. I walk away from the door though, waiting for him to come in to close it behind him.

"Okay?" He says. "I was expecting for you to start yelling at me,"

"For what?" I ask him, taking a seat back on my couch.

"Dj? For real. We haven't spoke in weeks. Hasn't that bothered you?"

"Nope," I lie, turning on my t.v.

He stands over me, a saddened expression began to fill his features.

"Why hasn't it?" He asks.

"Because you're just a nigga. What do I look like getting sad over some nigga?"

"Watch your mouth. I haven't called you a bitch not once, why I gotta be a nigga?"

"Because that's exactly what you are, and that's exactly what you've been every time you was laid up under some other female that wasn't me," I raise my voice. I was beginning to get angry, because I knew Jayon had been with other females since we stopped talking. Did he really have the nerve to come to my house expecting me to cry for him? To beg for him
to be back in my life? He had another thing coming.

"You don't know what the fuck I've been doing. Excuse me If I can't just get over what we had like you clearly have. And how the hell do I know you haven't been with other niggas?" His eyebrows arched downward when he spoke. This was the angriest I'd seen him. He wasn't even this angry when he had to battle Amber's dad that one night.

"Please," I laugh. "Like I have the time to have my legs spread for any other nigga when I barely had them open them for you," I cover my mouth, because I had just lied. I did open my legs for him, all the way actually.

"Ohhhh," he smirks. "So we just gone act like I didn't tongue you down? Pretty sure you was moaning 'a niggas' name," he begins to grin.

I jump off the couch. "Shut up! Shut up Jayon! You know what I meant. We haven't had sex yet!" I yelled, shoving him in his chest aggressively.

"Duh! It wasn't about sex Dj. What we had wasn't built off sex, you know this shit. I wanted something with you, and the morning you made me leave hurt, cause I felt stupid leaving this house knowing your mom didn't know me,"

"I told you I would tell her," my voice gets soft.

"When though?" He asks, just as we both hear the door bell.

"Right now apparently," I walk towards the door.

"Dj," his voice gets lower. The look on his face changed from irritation to anxiousness.

I open the door, holding it open for my mother to step in along with my brother.

They both walk in, not noticing Jayon at first.

"Whew, it's getting hotter and hotter out there," my mother says putting bags of groceries on the counter, while Deon puts some on the ground. She walks passed me and into the kitchen, kicking her shoes off.

Deon looked at Jayon, his eyes had gone wide when he seen him. Jayon had sat down, he knew it would take awhile for my mother to notice him. Our couches sat up high.

"Um, I'll be in my room," Deon says to me and my mother. I nod, giving him a silent thank you because this was the first time he wasn't gonna be included in my business.

"You not gone help with these groceries boy?" My mom asks, bending down to begin unpacking bags.

"I think you'll have enough help mom," he says, giving me a wink before running to his room.

"Mom," I cough.

"What?" She answers, still crouching on the ground.

Jayon had been staring at us the whole time, remaining painfully quiet.

"There's someone I want you to meet," I sit on the stool.

"Oh? Who is she?" She says standing directly to her feet.

"He," I point to Jayon's forehead, which had been poking up from over our couch.

My mom looks at me, she had made her way around the kitchen counter slowly, making full eye contact with Jayon for the first time.

Jayon looks at me unsurely before standing up to his feet again. He walked around our couch, meeting my mother half-way from the kitchen.

He put his hand out for her to shake, showing all his teeth in a smile.

"Hello Dj's mom, I'm Jayon,"
