Adrian and Deon had been talking shit about my driving the whole way there. I reminded myself that I needed to practice more, because the last time I had driven was months ago with my mother.

"Almost there," I said loudly over their disgusting music. It was worse than mine, which didn't make sense since I was older. I had Jasmine's address on my phone, looking at it on Ambers phone holder. Her car had been more complex than I realized.

"Yeah, yeah, don't talk until we're there," Deon spoke, making Adrian laugh more than he should have. It wasn't even that funny.

"The both of you are assholes. I'm not driving either of you anywhere after this,"

"Good," they both told me, laughing obnoxiously louder.

I rolled my eyes, looking at my rear view mirrors to make sure I had no cops around us. I had been paranoid since I got into Ambers car, and that's probably why my driving skills were horrible right now. The last thing I wanted was for us to get pulled over, because I had no identification on me and this clearly wasn't my car.

"Sit back y'all. Y'all know I'm not even suppose to be driving but you're constantly doing stupid shit in the back,"

"We're not getting pulled over Dj, Ambers car is in mint condition," Adrian gawked.

"No bro, not if Dj's driving," Deon said sitting back. "She's right, just sit back."

I ignored him, still keeping all my attention on the road. My phone said we were 7 minutes away, which made me feel a sense of relief.

*Jayon's POV*

My family had all been gone now, but I still wasn't relieved. In just a couple more hours another party would come about, more chaotic than the last. At least with my family I didn't have to supervise them, but I didn't know how Jasmine's friends were about to act at all.

My mother had already prepared food for them to eat when they arrived along with goody bags me and Jasmine had helped her create this morning. Her set up was turning out to be pretty cool for a 14 year old, but I knew it would take us awhile for it to be exactly how she wanted.

Just before I was about to throw some candy paper in the garbage can, I hear our doorbell ring.

"The fuck? Jasmine does your friends know when 7:30 is?" I asked her. She shrugged, with a smirk on her face. I shook my head. Clearly she knew who was ringing our doorbell this early.

I didn't even take my time looking out the peephole, but when I opened the door my entire mood changed. I was confused seeing the faces that I seen outside my house. I looked at Jasmine, who stood up and walked to the door. She pushed passed me to bring Adrian in by his wrist, waving to Deon, who was clearly DJ's younger brother. After they walked in, I completely blurred them out. The only face that caught my attention at that point was Dj's. She had been staring at me from a slug buggish car. It couldn't have been hers, because I knew she still wasn't driving. Or at least I assumed.

"Jayon," Jasmine called me, but I ignored her. I didn't even realize she was holding Adrian's hand, because I was so confused and wrapped up in the fact that Dj was in front of my house, and actually driving a car.

I walked to the front of my house, stopping completely on the sidewalk. It was silent between us, but not awkward. The wind was loud, and so were the leaves. She looked down at her lap, glancing at me before she put the key back in the ignition.

"Dj! Wait!" I yelled, running to the front of the car. Her face showed that she was about to cry. She clenched her fists around the wheel and made the engine run.
