*Dj's POV*

I had been sitting on the edge of my bed for hours. Everything was packed for me to leave for a couple days, and if I needed anything else I would come back to get it. She could kick me out all she wanted but this was still my room.

I was filled with anger and a little bit of regret, but not any type of regret from the sexual encounter I had with Jayon, it was from me not getting out of the damn car after it had happened. I shouldn't have fell asleep but it was difficult not too.

A soft knock hits my door suddenly, and at first I assume it's Deon until I hear Amber's voice. "Hey babes," she said, looking at my suitcase. I jumped up with amusement, giving her a hug. "I missed you so much," I say wrapping my arms around her waist. "How are you feeling?"

She showed a light smile. "A little sore but I'm good. My moms outside, I just had to make sure I stopped by to let you know I was finally out. You know, there's a lot we need to talk about," she tells me, looking back at my clothes. "What are you doing?"

"Who let you in?" I ask, trying to ignore her question. I didn't want to tell her what had happened between me and my mom because she would try to fix it, only to make it all worse. She had a problem with doing that. I loved her of course but this was just something that needed to stay from her, for a while at least.

"Deon," she said. "He's in the living room."

"Oh, right," I say. It bothered me to know he had been awake and still never checked on me. He had to know that my mother went crazy this morning. He knew everything else.

"Why are you packing Dj?" Amber asks.

I shake my head. "I'm just going to Jayon's for a while,"

"Jayon? You two are back together?"

"Um.." My mind flashed back to the recent intimate moments we had shared. Of course we were together. "Yes?"

"Yes?" Amber mocks me. "Y'all are crazy," she laughs.

"As hell," I agreed, turning back to my clothes to fold them. "But yeah, I'll be with him for awhile,"

Amber raises a brow. "And your mom is okay with that? She barely let you stay at my house and she knew we were bestfriends," she says, crossing her arms.

"Hey, things change Amber," I lie.

"Uh-huh," she says unsurely. "Well. My mom is waiting for me. Hopefully you can come to my house soon, it doesn't feel like our friendship is...our friendship anymore," she says.

"What makes you say that?" I ask.

"I don't know," she starts. "Just, text me alright?"

It seemed like she was rushing herself while she talked to me. She started to leave my room as I nodded. It was true. Our friendship was changing. She had just lost her baby after weeks of her complaining about how she didn't want too, and I had just had sex for the first time. Neither of us had been upfront with each other about anything, and it sucked.

*Jayon's POV*

I waited for Dj to come outside for about 30 minutes. I looked around to make sure her mom hadn't arrived, glancing to the back of my car multiple times.

I see her emerge from her house wiping her eyes. She had been pulling a large suitcase behind her and I instantly felt bad. I unlocked my door and watched as she struggled to put the suitcase in the backseat. She looked at me for a couple seconds, trying to force out a smile but I could tell she was hurt.

"Tell me what happened," I said as she got in. She buckled her seatbelt and pushed her seat back. "She caught me as I was coming in this morning. Her reaction was just...stupid. I think she already suspected that I was having sex with you or something, because she said she was disgusted with me. How could you be disgusted with your daughter for something you did before?" Dj says, looking at me pitifully. "She blatantly kicked me out and didn't even give me a chance to explain myself. All she asked me was if I was with you, and of course I said yeah. Then she seen my underwear and snatched them away from me. She even threw them in the garbage can, clearly trying to make me feel worthless," she continued, shaking her head. "I've already cried about it enough but Jayon I'm so hurt. She's my mom, she isn't suppose to be treating me like this. She basically is acting like she wouldn't care if she seen me in the streets. She didn't even give me time to find a place to go! She deadass said if I wasn't out of her house by the time she got home-"

"Stop Dj," I cut her off. "She's just mad at you for disobeying her rules. It's my fault that you even did. You know your mom meant nothing she said, she was just being heartless out of anger. She loves you to death and I know for a fact she's gonna be calling you to come back home soon," I told her.

She nodded, leaning her head against the window. "Yeah, maybe," she said.

"We'll see," I say. I started my car back up and watched as she wiped the tears from falling down her face. This was fucked up. It didn't make it any better that my grandma wasn't here anymore, because I swear me and Dj would have been right at her house. She would have let me bring her to stay as long as I wanted, and the thought of that just fucked me up even more. I really was never going to see her again.

I started coughing to hold back the tears that started to form in the back of my head. Dj noticed, and she looked at me. Her hand touched my thigh, but not in a sexual way. It was in a "We got each other" type of way. Even in her darkest times she would try to find the light in any situation. What did I do to deserve her? I asked myself that all the time, and I don't think I would ever get an answer to it.

The car ride was silent, mostly because of Dj falling asleep and my inability to turn my music back on. I needed the silence though, even though K-camp was my go-to when it came to car rides.

By the time we pulled into my driveway, Dj had started moving. Her face tensed up but she didn't open her eyes. "We're here," I said loudly, watching her jump.

"Great," she said restlessly. "Can you get my suitcase for me?"

"Mhm,"

She unbuckled her seatbelt and started to make her way towards my door. I walked around to retrieve her suitcase and began following her, opening the front door when I got to it. We walked in and smelled the fumes of burnt food almost instantly. I dropped her suitcase and ran to the kitchen, finding Jasmine there throwing something in the garbage can. "What the hell are you doing?" I asked her.

"I was trying to make tater-tots," she coughed. "I fell asleep on the couch while the oven was still on,"

"Jasmine get out, I'll make you some alright?" I told her. She nodded without talking back, leaving the kitchen while she locked her eyes on Dj. "Hey," Dj spoke but Jasmine said nothing back. She turned to me angrily. "Gramma dies and all you do is bring over your girlfriend? What the hell can she do?"

"Shut the fuck up and go to your room," I clenched my fist. She stood there silently. "Now Jasmine!"

She rolled her eyes and ran up the stairs, stomping hardly against the wood.

Dj looks at me uncomfortably. "Jayon she's upset," she told me.

"I'm upset too but that doesn't give me a right to disrespect you for no goddamn reason," I say.

"So you're saying after your grandma died you didn't go off on anyone? You didn't throw your anger on anyone else? You kept it all in?" She questions, making her way towards me.

"No but-"

"Then you have no right to say that. She's filled with anger right now. Instead of making her go to her room you should have explained to her why I'm here, and not just because of your pleasure. She should know you're not like that,"

"She knows I'm not like that! She's only saying shit to piss me off! She's already made the entire house smell like shit I'm not gonna let her make me feel like shit," I tell her.

She shakes her head, turning to the stairs. "I'm gonna talk to her," she says, making her way up the stairs.

"Fine," I call out to her. "Leave me down here to make the brat some tater-tots while you calm her down," I sarcastically add. "Shut up Jayon!" Dj yells as I slam the oven.

Why was so much going on today? Was it a fucking full moon?
