By the time I got to Amber's house it was 9:30. Deon had to be home around 11, that just was the curfew my mother wanted him to have.

"Thanks baby," I turned to Jayon, planting a kiss on his cheek. "Thank you for everything,"

"No problem," he told me. "But hey um, I think there's some things we should discuss later,"

"I agree," I said sadly. I kind of had an idea about what the talk would be about, but I would worry about that later. Right now I needed to make amends with my best friend.

Deon got out of the car and made his way to their door, knocking on it quickly.

"I love you Jayon," I said before I got out of the car. "Love you too," he said just before starting his engine. My heart was breaking because I knew he was gonna leave, and no matter how much I hated that fact, I didn't want him to stay here with me.

"Come on Dj," Deon called out to me. Adrian had answered the door, looking at us suspiciously. "What are y'all doing here?" He asked.

"I need to speak to Amber, is she here?" I asked.

"Yeah but Deon, why are you here?" He asked him uncomfortably.

"Adrian I just don't think it's fair that you stopped talking to me after you found out I was gay. We've been friends for years and you were suppose to support me, instead you left me in the dirt," Deon said. I walked past the both of them to get inside of their house. While they talked, I could try to talk to Amber.

"Dj?" She spoke. She was wrapped in a towel as she came down the stairs. "Came to cuss me out some more?" She sarcastically asked.

"No Amber. I just came to apologize about the way I treated you at school. You didn't deserve any of that but I thought you did at the time. I just couldn't believe you had been sneaking around with a boy I use to like, and then you didn't even tell me about the sneaking around so it just made it worse. I thought we were closer than that," I told her.

She looked at me sadly. "We are closer than that and I'm sorry. I didn't want you to know because I knew about your past with him. Everything happened too quickly Dj, we weren't talking like that anyway when school started so I assumed you wanted to go your own way. Plus you were living with Jayon so I honestly didn't think we were gonna see each other," she said walking towards me. She tightened her towel to her torso before leaning in for a hug. "I never meant you hurt you. You're my best friend,"

I hugged her back. "And your mines, but just because I was living with Jayon doesn't mean our friendship was ever suppose to change,"

"Honestly though Dj the way shit went with Hayden was sudden. I don't even think we had anything serious going on, we just liked making out with each other every day," she shrugged.

"Well that's kind of serious Amber," I grinned.

"I know," she blushed. "I like him Dj, I really do. I was so uncomfortable saying that to you but now that we're good..."

"It's okay Amber. I honestly couldn't be more happy for you. You found a good guy," I told her.

She hugged me again. "I love you Deej,"

"I love you too,"

It warmed my heart to know that me and my best friend were on a good page again. I missed her terribly and I knew she missed me as well.

My attention turned to Deon and Adrian when we heard a loud bang against the wall. They had been fighting each other. "Deon!" I shouted. "Adrian!" Amber yelled.
