"Dj! You won't believe who he's dealing with!" Amber yelled, pushing him towards me as she made her way to one of my stools. Adrian stopped himself from falling against me, eyeing Amber irritably.

"You told her?" Deon chimed in.

"Yeah I told her, she wouldn't leave me alone about it," Adrian spoke.

"Amber I know, I'm still in shock," I told her. She had looked so annoyed.

"I'm not okay with it, I don't want any parts of seeing Jayon just as much as you don't. Them dating each other or whatever the hell they're doing will only make shit awkward," Amber stated.

"Amber it's okay, you're not the one that dated Jayon, I did," I told her.

"I know Dj but you're my best friend, however you feel about it I'm gonna feel, and I know you don't like it," she said.

"I'm your brother Amber! It's always been Dj over me, well not this time. I like Jasmine and I'm gonna continue to fuck with her, I don't care about what Dj or Jayon had going on. It should have nothing to do with what me and Jasmine have going on right now," Adrian says. He was telling the truth though. Deon just shook his head, sitting back on the couch to witness their feud.

"Adrian shut up! Yes you're my brother but you haven't always been a good one, why do you think I'm taking Dj's side over this?" She yelled.

"Blood is thicker than water," he told her.

"But they both leak! Blood doesn't mean shit to me just as much as water doesn't. Especially when my own blood doesn't even notice that I'm pregnant!" She screamed.

A short silence had came over the living room. I didn't even want to breathe into the tension that was just created between them. Deon's eyes went so wide, he had to rub them to prevent them from drying out.

"You're what?" Adrian asked, walking towards Amber slowly. She got off the stool, walking in his direction as well. "I'm pregnant Adrian," she repeated. "I've been pregnant for a month now,"

"What?" Adrian's voice sounded like it would break. His face turned so red, he didn't know what to do.

I wasn't sure if he was happy, or angry. I never knew how to distinguish his emotions. Or his facial expressions.

"I should have told you, I'm sorry," she said, leaning towards him for a hug. "You can't tell dad, he would make me abort it,"

Adrian didn't say a word back, he hugged her slightly, looking over her shoulder in my direction. I showed him a small smile.

Deon looked at me, his expression wasn't the same as mines. I knew he was confused by the fact that Amber was pregnant, and so was Adrian. They were so speechless they couldn't even decide on what to say next. Amber started to cry on Adrian's shoulder for a bit. I walked towards them, rubbing against her back. "You'll be okay," I told her. "Everything's gonna be fine Amber,"

"Yeah,"Adrian said, awkwardly patting her back. "It's okay sis. And I'm sorry I didn't tell you about Jasmine, I didn't know you'd care,"

"I care about everything you do Adrian. Just because I don't show it doesn't mean I don't care," she told him, picking her head up from his shoulder. She turned towards me, giving me a long hug. I guess she was just over emotional today.

Adrian smiled, walking into my living room to sit by Deon. They both watched us for a while more, just to make sure no more crying occurred.

"I'm alright, I'm okay,"she exhaled, wiping her tears from her face. I let her go, shaking my head at her bipolar ness. "Are you really?" I asked.

"I am," she laughed. "Just experiencing a lot of emotions today,"

"We can tell," I told her.

"But, back on this Jasmine situation. I'm sure she's a sweet girl," Amber said sarcastically.

"She's incredible. Her birthday is tomorrow, she's having the party at her house, I already asked mom about it and she said I could go," Adrian tells us.

"I'm going too, if mom says I could," Deon agreed.

"Her house equals Jayon's house," Amber whispered in my direction, I rolled my eyes.

"That sounds fun," I say. "Weird, but fun,"

"How's it weird?" Deon asked.

"Because my little brother is going to my ex boyfriends house without me,"

"Don't think of it that way sis, think of it as more I'm just going to a friends house with Adrian,"

Amber shrugged. I'm sure both sounded weird to her as well.

"Well, Amber I still haven't bought her a gift. I was wondering if you'd take me to the mall real quick." Adrian asked her.

Amber looked at me, then back at Adrian. "Alright, Dj lets go,"

"What, why do I have to go?" I ask.

"Right?" Adrian chimes in, making Deon grin.

"Because me and her need to go to the mall anyway," Amber says.

"Well then I'm going," Deon speaks, standing up. "Let me go get my slides,"

"Damn. The whole gang going," Adrian stated sarcastically. I could tell he wanted it to be him and his sister, he probably needed her help looking for a gift.

"Amber, me and Deon aren't going. You and Adrian can go by y'all selves,"

"What?" Amber and Deon said at the same time. Adrian smiled lightly. "Good, lets go," Adrian said, dragging his sister by her wrist.

"Jeez Adrian," Amber said, allowing him to pull her out the door. Deon followed behind them, I didn't. "Have fun you two," I called out to them.

"Come on bruh, let me go with y'all," Deon begs, just before they went out the door. "Bro, listen to ya sister," Adrian laughed, closing the door in his face. I smirked.

"Dj? What the hell? I'm tryna get out this house too," Deon rose his voice.

"Don't cuss at me Deon. You act like you won't survive if you don't see Adrian 4 times a week. You need to find something else to do, they need alone time,"

"I'm taking a goddamn nap," he said, beginning to march to his room. "Go ahead," I said crossing my arms.

He left the living room without another word, making his way up the stairs. Now all I had to do was wait for my mother to get home.

It was time to tell her the truth about why I had been so down. As a parent, a mom, it was her top priority to know how we were doing, and she could tell I wasn't doing well.

She'd always ask me if I was okay. I always lied to avoid hearing her lectures and life stories. She seemed to have a habit of making my problems into hers, which is why I stayed quiet most of the time. Still though, she was my mother and despite her unintentional selfishness I knew she still had to know the truth.
