*Dj's POV*
As I started to knock on Jasmine's door I hear a blast of music begin to play. "Jasmine?" I call out. She doesn't answer me though.

The music becomes louder and I brace myself to open her door. She could have gotten violent with me for opening her door without asking for all I knew, but I needed her to understand that I wasn't trying to intrude and especially at this time. I didn't know how she processed her emotions, but it was necessary for her to know that me coming here had nothing to do with me wanting to please Jayon.

I start to open the door and she makes dreadful eye contact with me. It looked like she was in the middle of taking her clothes off, but I didn't care. "Hey," I say, inviting myself in. It was awkward walking into her room, and her music made it even worse. Almost every lyric was a cuss word, and it was all so aggressive.

"Please get out," she said. She reminded me so much of Adrian, now I understood why they clicked so well. Luckily, I knew how to deal with Adrian when he didn't wanna deal with me, and she was a girl so this shouldn't have been that difficult.

"Can we please talk? Girl to girl.." I asked. She stared at me blankly before turning her music down, plopping down on her bed.

"I just wanted you to know that the last thing I wanted to do was intrude. I know what's been going on lately, and it breaks my heart to see you or Jayon going through it. Even your mom. I lost my grandma at a young age too, and I know exactly how that makes you feel. You feel like no one understands your pain because you're just a child, you feel like no one cares," I begin, watching her look away from me. "I know how you feel, trust me I do, and I'm not here to please Jayon. He's been dealing with it in his own way, and I've just been his shoulder to cry on. I can be your shoulder too, if you want me to," I tell her.

She looks at me again. The anger in her eyes vanished for a second before she opened her mouth. "I don't need to be pitied," she said sharply.

"And I'm not trying to pity you. I just want us to be cool, since I'm gonna be around for a bit-"

"Is this about the money my grandma left for Jayon? Are you a gold digger?" She asks, squinting her eyes at me.

"What? No, of course I'm not!" I say loudly. "Jasmine I love your brother whether he's broke or rich. I'm not after his money, I don't need his money," I say defensively.

"Why are you going to be around for a bit then? And why do you suddenly feel the need to be around at all right now?" She stands up.

"Jasmine I'm only here because my mother kicked me out after she caught me with Jayon!" I blurt.

Jasmine becomes silent. Her mouth closed completely.

"I didn't mean to yell-" I start but she puts her hand up. "No, no I'm sorry," she says, sitting back down on her bed with a confused look on her face. "I shouldn't have came at you like that,"

"It's okay,"

"It's not, and I'm sorry Dj. We just never got a full one on one after I seen you and him fighting with each other the day of my birthday. I guess I still felt some type of way about it,"

I half smiled. "I'm sorry about that too, again. I know I've apologized so many times about it but it still bothers me to know that that had to be the first time you met me,"

"I know, but it's fine. I sometimes wanna run him over too," she laughs, making me laugh.

"Yeah, he's definitely a pain," I say.

"He is. I'm sorry that your mom kicked you out because of him. I get why you have to be with him right now,"

"Yeah. I have no where else to go," I tell her, standing to my feet. "I'm glad we had this talk. I enjoy talking to you, and I never congratulated you on dating Adrian," I say.

She blushes. "He's the best honestly,"

"He's alright," I shrug sarcastically.

She laughs again. "But I enjoyed talking to you too, and since you're gonna be here for awhile, you're welcome in my room anytime," she tells me.

"Of course," I agreed, reaching for a hug. She leaned towards me, and to my surprise our embrace lasted for a while.

***
Hours went by the longer I had been laid up with Jayon and all I could think about was my mom. She hadn't called or even texted me to see where I went or what I was even doing. Her behavior lately just seemed unlike her, and I started to think about when she was telling me about her job.

"Stop stressin,'" Jayon spoke, beginning to rub my forehead.

"It's hard not too," I say.

"I know,"

We had been in his room, and it was messy but I chose not to say anything about it. His mother had gotten home hours ago but she didn't speak to him, she only went in Jasmine's room. From what I heard, it was information about what the hospital said about their grandma. I was shocked she didn't knock on Jayon's door, but I guess that's how their relationship worked when they were mad at one another. The silent treatment played a huge role.

"Aren't you curious? About your grandma?" I asked.

"No. I don't wanna hear what happened,"

"But Jayon-"

"Leave it Dj," he said sharply. I looked at him while trying to find something to say but I had nothing. This was his crisis not mine, and if that's how he wanted to handle it what really could I do but support him?

"Things are gonna get better, for the both of us. I promise," I said, throwing my arm over his waist.

He sighed, planting a kiss on my hand. "I hope so,"

But it would though. I knew it would.
