*Dj's POV*

3 months later.

October 24th, just a couple days before Halloween.

Life had been the same almost. The only thing that changed was me and Amber's friendship. Ever since she lost her baby in July, she had been more distant from me. It didn't help that I was still living with Jayon so I couldn't invite her to my house to talk. I knew we were both just trying to manage our lives that had changed so much since the beginning of the summer.

School had started again, we were both trying to adjust to it in our own ways. I didn't see Amber there much though, and when ever I would run into Adrian to ask where she was he would always give me the same response. "She's home, she isn't feeling well,"

Usually we'd be sitting in my room discussing our problems and laughing it off, but this time was different. I didn't have a room anymore, and my mother still wasn't talking to me. I was worried about Amber though. I knew she wasn't right, and when she wasn't right I could feel it. I just couldn't find it in me to pop up at her house, but I knew she was expecting me too.

Jayon and I weren't going to the same school, which was annoying for me because I had no one to socialize with when I went, but I knew I would have to get over it. I was a junior now, and I was going to make sure my grades this year were nothing compared to last year. My grades weren't horrible in the 10th grade, I just had a lot of C's. I never really put that much effort into school. Probably because I hated it.

Right now, I was wandering the halls of my school. I had an elective this hour that I wasn't trying to be in. My only option was to text Jayon to ask him if he could pick me up, but I doubt he would.

He was a senior now, so he took less classes than me. I despised him for that but I was also proud of him for being able to stay focused enough to earn a shorter schedule. I was proud of everything he'd accomplished in these past 3 months. He organized his Grandmother's funeral with the help of his mother, and he made it so beautiful. Every word he spoke about her was amazing. It made me cry watching him express his vulnerable side. It always warmed my heart knowing how much he loved her.

"Dj? What are you doing out here? Get to class!" The janitors familiar voice catches my attention almost instantly. I turn towards him and grin. "Sorry Mr.B. I just hate this period. I was gonna leave but I don't think my boyfriend will come get me," I tell him.

"He bet not! You need to be getting your education," he says. His voice was so raspy and calm, I could have listened to him talk forever, which was weird because it wasn't pleasant to most people.

"I hear you," I say.

"Do you now?" He questions, chuckling under his breath. "Get to class before one of these hall monitors catch ya',"

I sigh. "Alright Mr.B,"

"Get on," he says, beginning to force his broom in my direction. "Get,"

"Okay, okay," I said, heading down the halls more quickly. At least I only had about an hour left of this Hell hole.

*Jayon's POV*

"Jayon I'm sorry, but my mind is made up," my mom tells me as she starts to walk away from me. "I can't live in a place where my Mother died. I miss her more and more everyday and I think it's time for us to go. She left enough money for you to help me move with,"

"Mom, that money is for college. What are you not getting? I'm not leaving Vegas. I'm not leaving her spirit here by itself to linger, and I'm not leaving Dj."
